The City of York Council has revised its policy regarding Blue Badge access during the Christmas Market period. Initially, access was restricted from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm daily, citing public safety concerns. However, following a council Executive meeting on November 14, 2024, the decision was made to allow Blue Badge holders vehicular access after 5:00 pm via Goodramgate, excluding Church Street. This adjustment aims to balance safety considerations with the accessibility needs of disabled residents and visitors.
