Chris Vince MP welcomes changes to Blue Badge applications after campaigning on behalf of residents

In October 2024, Essex County Council announced plans to modernize the Blue Badge application process, a move welcomed by Chris Vince, MP for Harlow and the surrounding villages. Since his election in July, Vince has actively campaigned for reforms after numerous residents reported experiencing significant delays—up to 12 weeks—in receiving their Blue Badges. In August, he addressed these concerns in a letter to Essex County Council leader Kevin Bentley, emphasizing the urgency of the issue. The council’s decision to introduce a new, inclusive digital solution aims to streamline applications and is expected to go live in December 2024. Vince expressed hope that this development would remove previous barriers, allowing those in need to apply for and renew their Blue Badges more efficiently. He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for his constituents to ensure they receive necessary resources and support.
